Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Travel Advisor to oversee the daily activities of our travel team while managing complex client bookings. This role combines hands-on travel consultancy with team supervision, ensuring smooth operations, exceptional customer experiences, and the continuous improvement of our business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the travel team.
  • Mentor and support junior staff to achieve service excellence and sales targets.
  • Design and manage complex travel itineraries, including long-haul, European, honeymoon, and cruise packages.
  • Provide expert guidance on destinations, visa requirements, travel insurance, and other travel-related services.
  • Manage leisure bookings with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating competitive rates.
  • Drive continuous improvement of operational workflows to enhance service quality and efficiency.
  • Utilise advanced knowledge of travel booking platforms and related IT systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the client experience.
  • Collaborate with management to identify, implement, and optimise technology solutions for operational improvement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the travel industry, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of global destinations, booking systems, and travel regulations.
  • Strong proficiency in travel booking platforms (Amadeus GDS system) and related IT systems, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and travel reservation systems.
  • Fluent in English and Maltese, spoken and written.
