DETAILED ITINERARY
27th March: Meet at Malta International Airport at 1200hrs for check-in. Depart Malta for Dubai. On arrival, remain in transit for your connecting flight to Osaka.
28th March: On arrival in Osaka, transfer to your centrally located hotel in Kyoto and check-in. The evening is free. Overnight in Kyoto.
29th March: B Explore Kyoto, visiting the Kinkakuji Temple, otherwise known as the famous Golden Pavilion. Afterwards, we continue to Arashiyama where you will walk through the infamous Bamboo Forest of Arashiyama. Free time to grab lunch in this picturesque town. In the afternoon, enjoy a Unique Experience – Tea Ceremony followed by a visit to the lively Maruyama Park to see the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. Overnight in Kyoto.
30th March: B Explore Kyoto with a visit this morning to the Kiyomizudera. The temple was founded in 778 AD and is famous for its wooden stage offering panoramic views of Kyoto. Later we continue to Fushimi Inari which displays hundreds of Torri gates on a trail path up the hills. Free time also to grab some lunch. In the afternoon we head to the Gion Corner where we will stroll through the streets embedded with tea houses and townhouses in the hope of seeing a Geisha on her way to a performance. Overnight in Kyoto.
31st March: B Check out from our hotel. We leave for Nara (Deer) Park, visiting the Todaiji Temple. Free time for some lunch. In the afternoon we continue to Osaka, where we will walk through the Nishinomaru Garden and take photos of Osaka Castle from the park. Overnight in Osaka.
01st April: B Today is your free day. You can either visit Universal Studios (your tour leader will guide you as to how to get there - tickets can only be purchased closer to date) and for those who do not wish to visit the theme park, you can join your tour leader exploring Kobe. (Exploration is made on foot and by local train with your tour leader). Overnight Osaka.
02nd April: B This morning checkout and head to Himeji to visit the largest and most preserved, original castle in Japan. Afterwards, we continue to Hiroshima by coach. Overnight in Hiroshima.
03rd April: B This morning we will head to the pier and travel by ferry to Miyajima Island. Visit the Itsukushima Shrine and explore the temples to the top and see the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. Return to Hiroshima and visit the Peace Memorial Museum, the Peace Memorial Park and the Children's Peace Memorial as well as the famous A-Bomb Dome. Overnight in Hiroshima.
04th April: B, D Check out and head to the station for our Bullet train experience as we travel north to the Hakone region. Upon arrival, we will visit Mt. Fuji’s 5th station (subject to weather conditions). Afterwards, we make our way to our ryokan this evening with a typical Japanese course meal whilst enjoying the onsen spa. Overnight in Ito.
05th April: B Check out and depart to Kawaguchiko. Short cruise on Lake Kawaguchi and enjoy the escalated views of Mt. Fuji with the Panoramic ropeway (cable car). Afterwards, we visit the small scenic village of Oshino Hakkai with the backdrop of Mt. Fuji. Later we head to Tokyo. Overnight in Tokyo.
06th April: B We travel to Kamakura, the first Shogumate’s capital visiting the Kotokuin Temple with the Great Buddha statue. We then head to Yokohama starting with Minato Mirai – a futuristic waterfront with a high-rise observation deck and stylish boutiques at Yokohama Landmark Tower and Plaza. We continue to the Chinatown of Yokohama and then later return to Tokyo.
07th April: B Full-day tour of Tokyo, including Asakusa - Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Street. Free time for lunch. Unique Experience – Kimono-wearing. In the afternoon visit the Sky Tree and head to Ueno Park to see the Cherry Blossoms in bloom. We return to the hotel with a photo stop at the Imperial Palace. Overnight Tokyo.
08th April: B Today is your free day. You can either visit Disneyland (your tour leader will guide you as to how to get there - tickets can only be purchased closer to date) and for those who do not wish to visit the theme park, we can organise an optional tour to visit Nikko or you can further explore Tokyo on your own. (Exploration is made on foot and by local train).
09th April: B After breakfast. Check out. This morning we visit the Tsujiki outer fish market to witness the extraordinary display of seafood delicacies. Unique Experience – Sushi Making Class. Afterwards we head to Team Labs, the famous digital art museum where creations are made with digital technology and illusion. Continue to the Meiju Shingu Shrine and time for some shopping in Takeshita Street and Omotesando, the busiest streets in Tokyo. Evening departure to Malta.
10th April: Arrive in Malta at approximately 1405 hours.
